Ah...Posture. This is an interesting choice of words. Not knowing posture. It involves the body. So much of talk, thought, emotion, is embodied. We weigh alternatives. Open posibilities, take steps, get stuck, feel down or up. I'm increasingly try t…

Brain, science, and SF group revided

Hi, after a long while being elsewhere than here. I'm back, and have decided to start sharing more of the wonderful stuff on neuroscience and psychology I've encountered during my google-travels. First in line. The pleasures of uncertainty: research by Tim Wilson and Daniel Gilbert. More social psychology than brain-science, but cool stuff. See you in the SFBS group http://solworld.ning.com/group/sfbrainsandscience

New groups and some video

I've just started two groups on our ning. One on SF, Brain, and science, and one on Micro-tools and the plus model. Go check them out, and join if you like. I've also added some video. One is a some thought on SF in response to questions from the organizers of an SF conference in 2006 (EBTA Krakow). The other is a absolutely fantastic video with V.S. Ramachandran on the most weird brain phenomena imaginable. If this doesn't make you intersted in neuroscience, nothing will. The Ramachandran video… Continue

It sounds like this might be an area ripe for a good SF-neuroscience partnership.

Hello Michael, That sounds like a great conference in Helsinki. Is there a particular white paper or book that you'd recommend that shows how the knowledge of brain research can be practically applied to SF work?

Hello Michael,
We did talk about brain science in Cologne. It is fascinating stuff. I'm hoping to make it to Bucharest next year and share some ways I've found to make the science make sense to neophytes. thanks again. Bob

And I am going to write more on how I'm using it in the MT group soon! There's a lot of playfulness in it and it's being extremly well recieved.

Hi Michael!
Your PLUS model seems very cool.
And what you wrote about epsiodic memory / future is very interesting.
I am in the process of co-authoring an article about SF foundations and yours is exactly the kind of approach I have in mind.
Maybe we can exchange a few emails about it??
Cheers,
Paolo

Hi Michael!
Vow, impressive... going to Vercelli to study guitar?!??
Cool, you must be very good!
I was asking just because Vercelli is not the typical destination for foreigners when they come to Italy, preferring cities like Rome, Florence of Venice.
BTW, I live next to Corso Vercelli, so named because in ancient times it was the beginning of the road that led West, to Novarea, Vercelli and then Torino... I'll take that as an interesting coincidence! :-)

Hi Michael!
I am leaving for a business trip and I'll be pretty busy today and tomorrow.
I'll reply during the weekend...
and what about your interests in the new brain science??
Ciao,
Paolo

PS: Vercelli?!???
