Hi Carole, this is realy a big lot.
Have you had a good talk with the people who invited you? I guess it can be very helpful to ask what of all these issues has priority?
What would you like to do on this day. Which topic do you like most?
Maybe if you start with a certain topic, other questions willbe solved on the way, or maybe you have to negotiate for another day;-)?
greets from Basel

Hello,
I've just been invited by a drug company rep to do a training day on
"Time management, assertion, negotiation and people management skills" for nurses. Although I can easily see that SF will work well in each of these areas, this strikes me as an awful lot for one day, and quite diverse topics. I'd be grateful to hear what other trainers think?
Thanks - Carole

Hi Carole, the intention would certainly be to include training such as 'SF conversational skills', SF leadership, or anything else explicitly SF. The longer-term aim is to help clarify (to ourselves, to the market) what the 'SF' title constitutes. Also to raise the standards and quality of anything 'SF'.

Hello. what a fast-growing group, which surely shows the interest in SF out there. I just wanted to say that many of us, I would guess, are not only teaching 'how to do SF' but also training on lots of other topics using an SF approach. I imagine you could teach absolutely anything using the SF approach! I seem to be on a roll of teaching 'SF conversational skills' to healthcare workers right now; - the NHS seems to be recognising SF as a valuable tool at last - also teaching SF supervision skills as well as a few other things. I'm interested in the way we tailor our offerings according to the commissioner and the participants. There isn't a 'standard' Intro to SF - everything goes from first SF principles, eg what are you good at already, what are your best hopes for this training, etc etc. This makes designing and running a workshop riveting! Bjorn, what have we learned so far? What a brilliant question - like being poised on the top of a cut diamond, anywhere you turn you fly off into uncertainty, or you can just stay poised on the SF point. . .
Best wishes,
Carole

Hi I will surely be interested in continuing develop SF training as a profession. I am also impressed by the many inspiring reactions to STN! I would appreciate a discussion and sharing of how do we do our sf training? I know there is a variety and a great development over the yers and I am curious to see some different examples and perspectives of how we do actually do it and what we learnt so far? I hope to come back with some thoughts further on to continue this discussion, if noone else do this before so please feel free...

warmly

Björn

OOPS! I posted this as a discussion:
Hi Paul,
Thanks for the invite and for clarifying what this forum is all about- I'll look forward to see / learn from what emerges as we engage with the accreditation/badging processes.
I'll be attending a three days training in Action Learning 26-28 May In Johannesburg - joining this forum comes so on time as I am going to start training coaches --- building the Global Coaching Community--- for next year's Rainbow Congress in SA in September 2010.
I am looking forward to learn and share here.
I would like to create a space here where I can bounce South African ideas - and see international ideas getting bounced around... and more.

Hello Paul,
thanks a lot for the initiative. With pleasure I will contribute! Am especially interested in what works best - and what we might do to broaden the space for learning for all of us and the people we are working with.
Yours Monika

Hello Paul and all,
This is just what I've been looking for. I must be no. 26. I'm about to leave my NHS work and focus much more on freelance training so this will be invaluable.
All the best to all,
Carole
