Hi Karlstad Group!
please take note of the upcoming closing date (nov 1st) for the workshop proposals for SOL2009. As you know, the theme will be connections. We are very curious to see what connections with other schools of thought might be brought on stage. If you have not yet turned in your proposals: here's the form .

I had not been at the ning-thing for a long time now, but recently I was enjoying a relaxed afternoon on the banks of the local Neckar river (yes, the one to help make Heidelberg look so romantic ...;-) when I saw that ship passing by carrying the name "Karlstadt D". So I returned, just to find quite a lot of interesting reading materia - which then again may make me not return again for some while, because the reading may take some time ... Anyway: thanks for sharing the interesting info on agility, complexity, snowden et al, in connection with SF-neighbors.

Jenny: You did more than volunteering to take a small step, your efforts on behalf of the Karlstad Group are considerable. Specifically, I think that your work group at the VIenna meeting captured the fundamental importance of the metathing as a new central focus for people interested in sf practice. By placing sf practice within an encompassing metathing context, we open up a variety of issues and questions that are easily ignored or not noticed in past discussions, which have treated sf practice and philosophy as the center. Now, it is reasonable to ask speakers, writers and practitioners to discuss how their practices and ideas are related to other aspects of the metathing. I would also add that it provides a standpoint for extending discussions of sf practice beyond the scope of Wittgenstein's writings, which are still important but need not be cast as the starting or ending point for sf thought and practice or even as the most important source for understanding how it works. The future looks challenging, interesting and even fun. Gale

Hi all,
What a great idea to look for simmilarities, parallels or common roots! I promiss to add some ideas towards the "meta-thing" later (as I need to sort out my proceedings and translate it somehow into English).
Anyway, in the meantime I would like to mention some workings of Heinz Stefan Hezka (Die Neue Kindhiet) and Hubertus von Schoenebeck (Grundlagen der erziehungsfreien Lebensführung) at least. Both of authors are stressing alternative approach to education that seems to be very simmilar to SF way of thinking.
I am not sure if any of these books were published in English as well, anyway at least German or Czech speaking people can enjoy it. :)
