Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

Elta Boshard pointed me to this wonderful video - a TED talk of Benoit Mandelbrot a Mathematician on "Fractals and the art of roughness"

"Bottomless wonders spring from simple rules...repeated without end" Benoit Mandelbrot

Reminds me of a lot of t
hings we do (e.g. simple questions over and over again, If it works do more of it) and talked about in the last few years (e.g. swarm intellingence).

With repeated simplicity to miracles! If it works do more of it - simple and true. Sometimes I forget and try to do complex things :-)

WOW AGAIN!!!
Thanks, Anton for sharing those simply inspiring and unspoken rules. Wouldn't it be great if we make that a motto to live by?
Warm regards

Hi Dominik, Thanks for sharing. The Solworld Summer University was such a bottemless wonder... The unspoken simple rules were: show appreciation, say 'yes and', everybody is responsible for the outcome, share, make your partners look good, keep it clean and funny, ...

One of the comments on TED stated: "The "roughness" BM is talking about is actually the Fractal dimension of the object" got my attention!
It challenged me to question my thinking, for is the 'object' that we are facing in our work not a person - 'roughness' and all.... I was reminded of the "E" in S.I.M.P.L.E- every case is different.
However, as you say Dominik, (if I may add?) the simplicity elevates our appreciation for the fact that the power of the process is in not in simply using the tools but in the beauty of not Trying, but in Flow(ing)
- and here I refer to another of my favourites: “Finding Flow: The Psychology Of Engagement With Everyday Life” - Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi.
