Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations

Edgar Schein: "SF as a simpicistic reduction of complexity"

Just now I received an announcement for a workshop given by Prof. Edgar Schein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edgar_Schein) with the title: "Leadership and Transformation - Leadership in tough times", see http://www.trias.ch/d/kurse_coaching_for_transformation_2009.php

There I can read:

An interesting - and not quite respectful - "short cut" of SF......

Does anyone have a closer contact to this Prof. Edgar Schein?

Cheers
Hans-Peter

Elta, interesting to read about your experiences in that studies and that they paved your way into SF.

A discussion about this blog way active the last few days, see the thread in http://home.ease.lsoft.com/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind0904&L=SOLUTIONS-L&D=0&O=A&T=0&X=56F63316842E1449BA&Y=hp%40korn.ch&P=137923

Hans-Peter,
I was privileged to have his works together with some of Donald Schön and Chris Argyris prescribed for some post-graduate studies… so his / their influence paved the way for me into a solutions thinking/working way long ago….back in the early ’80.
Coming from and Industrial Psychological background I first came across the term Solution-Focused in the late 80’s or was it the early 90’? How time flies.
Am I coming in too late into this discussion??? I have been working out of town & have not even looked at the list correspondence... what is your specific question? How can I help?
Regards,
Elta

Some comments to this blog are here:

(This is the archive of the SOLUTIONS-List)

It seems - as I observe also other contribution in this ning-forum - that there ate more discussions in the SOLUTIONS-List then in this ning-group. Any suggestions or other observations about that?
