Sharing and building Solution Focused practice in organisations
Hello SOLWorld people
And friendly greetings from the UK Association for Solution Focused Practice (UKASFP)!
I want to let you know about the 8th annual UKASFP conference, this year taking place in Bath, England, on 16-17 June.
The UKASFP began in 2002/3 and the initiative came from the therapy world - the meeting which set the ball rolling taking place in December 2002 at Birmingham University, then the home of the MA in Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Inclusivity, however, was one of its founding principles and the use of the word 'practice' in its title rather than 'therapy' reflected this. Notwithstanding this, up until now its membership and annual conference has probably been most focused on health, social care and education - much wider than therapy, but perhaps not fully encompassing the whole range of solution focused practice.
With this in mind, the organisers of this year's conference have set out to create as diverse an event as possible, and we think that we have made good progress towards this. We are delighted that the programme will include workshops by Bruce Woodings and Sue Lickorish, amongst much other stimulating input.
To find out more about the conference, go to www.ukasfp2011.co.uk where you can book a place. If you think you might want to come, do book early, especially your accommodation. Bath is a beautiful city and in June accommodation will at some point be at a premium!
With very best wishes
