My suspicion is that SF is slow to commercialize because we keep talking about why and how it is so wonderful. I don't think we spend enough time talking about the benefits. Instead, we're fascinated by its features - which for some are hard to believe, especially when there's a winning system out there called 'let's talk about the problem'. Hence, the SF book I'm about to publish talks about why organizations need to get rid of problem discussions (in human systems, not engineering) in order to improve productivity, innovation, etc.
