Post Conference
26th of May
Experience. Solution. Focus.
At this post conference we are hoping to discover how professionals working with individuals and teams can benefit from using experiential elements with an SF approach. Through examining cases we aim find an application of Solution Focused Experiential Education (SFEE) for organisations that provides a bridge between l’art pour l’art team building activities and team coaching, responding to an observable need from team leaders and HR professionals.
A growing number of Experiential Educators in Hungary are turning towards SF to provide a philosophical framework to their experience based methodology. They will share their state of work, introduce cases where SFEE was successfully used: Áprád Bárnai, Irma Horváth, Eszter Dobai and Gábor Nagy (Mápó) already confirmed their contributions. An interactive keynote by Peter Szabo and a workshop by Kati Hankovszky will offer a platform to review how SF coaches have been and can be efficiently trained through experiential learning. Furthermore there
will be a series of campfire sessions so participants can reflect on how
SFEE is applicable to their own practice.
We are looking forward to your registration: http://www.solworldevents.org/registration/
Just letting you know: this is the venue of the conference dinner, taking place on Thursday, 23rd of May
Preconf: May 22nd
Morning program 9.00-12.00
Pre-conference 2: Biba Rebolj: Slowing down for going fast
SF is associated with rapid progress towards an outcome. Watching our work we seem to associate change with detailed description of preferred future. Simple, not easy, as eliciting detailed description requires lots of persistence and skills to get the flow of the conversation going. What we will do and what you will learn: You will observe a live session and try out yourself the skills of narrowing and slowing the SF process down in eliciting description of details that open up possibilities for rapid change and progress. Want faster progress? Slow down!
Preconf: May 22nd
Afternoon program 14.00-17.00
Pre-conference4: Haesun Moon: Making Progress Visible for Learners of Solution Focused Dialogue
"How does Solution-Focused dialogue work?" and "how does one become Solution-Focused?" have been two central questions that we ("the Toronto school") have played with and battled with. In this session, you will gain pedagogical insights and tools inspired by the Microanalysis of Face-to-Face Dialogue to use in supervising, mentoring, coaching, and teaching with Solution-Focused dialogue.
Preconf: May 22nd
Afternoon program 14.00-17.00
Pre-conference 3: Daniel Meier/Elvira Kalmár: Beyond Agile: Building Self-Managing Teams
Going agile and becoming adaptive is a trend in big and small organisations all over the world. We are quite convinced that "Agile" is just a label and method to get more self-organised and adaptive, which is not fitting for each and every team/organisation. The Art is to co-create with the actual team their unique way of self-organised work. We share a case study with you about a leader's challenge in a big multinational company in Hungary building up an adaptive team in a co-creative way. We will create an interactive space together with you to identify how solution focused mindset was used in this process. And we would like even to broaden the perspective and collect what other solution focused tools would be useful for leaders in order to develop adaptive, self-managing teams
Preconf: May 22nd
Morning program 9.00-12.00
Pre-conference 1: Enikö Tegyi/Áron Levendel: Room the Bloom: upgrade your meeting culture
In this workshop the participants will
1. work on their own meeting “know-how” and
2. learn about best practices about meetings (group coaching, sharing and interactive training parts) and
3. learn about an exciting case study of changing the meeting culture in a financial institution (Fundamenta) in Hungary using the solution focused approach
Following the story line, we will share with you the challenges and ideas we encountered introducing a new meeting culture (e.g. How to create a better meeting culture in a far too busy company?), research results and best practices.
In this highly interactive workshop you will have the opportunity to work on your own issues and goals in terms of meetings as well.
You will leave with new ideas AND clear personal goals, resources and small steps how you can improve the meetings/meeting culture in your own company.
The format we chose has the best of two worlds - a curated fixed programme to make sure that there is enough diversity across the tracks to offer something interesting for everyone in every single slot; and ample time for open space to ensure that the conference is relevant and responds to emergent needs. Add long breaks for mingling, socialising and sponaneous life-changing conversations and you’ve got the recipe for a conference we think will be one to talk about.
We have booked our flights - hoping to see Signs of Progress re registration soon!

You want to learn more about "Solution Focus"?
You prefer a "step by step" introduction instead to start with reading some voluminous books?
You would appreciate to have a complete "helicopter view" on SF after the first step…
